Paper Technics was formed in response to a pressing need in recent years for training courses within the sphere of papermaking. To meet this growing demand, a wide range of courses were designed, in order to provide an efficient way of meeting the demand at the introductory and intermediate level.

The overarching principle has been to make available trainers who are really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their particular subjects and to make the range of courses wide enough to cover the most pertinent aspects of papermaking.

We are a UK based company, whose primary activity is to provide information about the subject of papermaking, for the benefit of paper companies and their associated suppliers. It's our belief that the provision of such high quality information is very beneficial

There's a great deal of information about the main activity, namely training services and it's worthwhile using the contact form, so that we can keep you informed about our activities on a regular basis, to give us feedback and to enable us to improve our services to you, by responding to your feedback.

Finishing Course: next course Q3: TBC

- De Vere Whites Hotel, Bolton: £500 for 2 day course: £250 for one day course

This course has been specifically designed to give a readily absorbable introduction and intermediate overview of the finishing operations in a modern paper mill. As such, it will be very beneficial for finishing department operatives and managers and also for people in technical or sales roles who need to have an understanding of these processes. The course is also of great relevance to finishing machinery supplier personnel, who will gain an appreciation of the finer points of the operation of the equipment they are selling or servicing within the broader context of the paper mill operations.

The format of the course is one day of introductory material followed by one day of intermediate content. The courses may be taken together or individually.

The introductory course has sessions on winding, sheeting, packaging and warehousing and mathematical techniques for finishing are also discussed.

The intermediate course goes into more details on winding and sheeting and also introduces the additional subject of broke handling, paper treatment, including, calendering, embossing, coating and de-curling equipment operations and includes the subject of planning and people management related to the Finishing Department.

Tissue Orientation Course: next course

It is equally applicable to tissue production personnel, who want to find out more about the process and the optimum way to control the characteristics of the final tissue and general technical and sales personnel, who want to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this fascinating subject.

The course is given by a highly respected expert, who apart from his career with top class producers of tissue, has an unrivalled depth of experience and passion for his subject. This enthusiasm is delivered in a clear way, which is easy to understand.
